Hanley Ramírez

Hanley Ramírez, born December 23, 1983, in Samana, Dominican Republic, is a shortstop in Major League Baseball for the Florida Marlins. Ramírez was named 2006 NL Rookie of the Year by the Baseball Writers Association of America.  In 2009, Ramirez won his first NL batting title.Ramírez was discovered by scouts Levy Ochoa and Julian Camilo and was considered the top prospect in the Boston Red Sox organization. He was traded to the Florida Marlins in 2005 together with Aníbal Sánchez for Josh Beckett, Mike Lowell, and Guillermo Mota. 2009 season On February 24, 2009, the Miami Herald reported that Ramirez would be moving from the leadoff spot to the 3rd spot in the lineup.
